Thermometer scale damage

The scale is mainly formed because the salts of calcium, magnesium, and the like contained in the boiler feed water are heated and precipitated and adhered to the metal surface. The thermal conductivity of scale is very small, about 2 to 5% of ordinary steel. The scale is formed on the heating surface of the boiler, which will greatly deteriorate the heat transfer effect and affect the efficiency of the boiler, thereby wasting fuel or electricity.

It is easy to cause the metal material to burn out due to local overheating, and even a tube explosion accident; it will cause the electrochemical corrosion to be intensified, causing corrosion of the scale of the boiler and accelerating the damage of the heated surface.
